On August 19, 2010 Brothers Steve Lovasz, Mike O'Shaughnessy and RW Tony Pecorella, embarked on what was to be an adventure to Union Lodge No. 38, in Tennessee.

Having talked about the trip for the past three years we were now on our way. Union Lodge had three events on the trestle board for the weekend, EA Degree exemplification, performed by the Brothers of PALMER LODGE #372 of the GLC, a 3rd Degree in the Cave, and DeMolay initiations.

The round trip, added almost 1600 miles to the odometer,
and a life time of memories.

We traveled to West Virginia, and were afford hospitality and a place to sleep at Steve's Sister and Brother-in-Laws home. Wolf also joined us for dinner at a local establishment, and the week prior at our annual picnic.

The Lodge was located on a hill, overlooking a beautiful lake, with vistas of the town, and homes on the hill side.

The Cave however, was as raw as could be, as this was not one of the Caverns along the tour routes.

Lighting was provided by four Coleman lanterns, one in the passage and three in cave. Hm mm.

The actual lighting, without the flash can be seen in the Lodge room to the right.

The room echoed with voices that sounded in the distance, water dripped from the roof, above our heads by about 80', the temperature in the room was in the 50's, and humidity was in the 80% range or better. ( click here to view )

The War Between the States Degree Team, performed an excellent drama, that kept all in attendance entertained.

Their uniforms were period pieces as well as their Aprons. Patrick Craddock of the War Between the States Degree Team designed the aprons and his web site is: http://www.craftsmansapron.com.

We are a victim of our own success
regarding the record attendance in it's thirty nine year history.
