Demolay Legion of Honor R.'.W.'.Gilbert Savitzky |
| The Legion of Honor is the highest Degree and Honor conferred by the International Supreme Council of the Order Of DeMolay. It is awarded in recognition of outstanding adult leadership in some field of endeavor that serves God, Country, or Humanity. The Active Legion of Honor is awarded to a senior DeMolay over thirty years of age. The Honorary Legion of Honor is awarded to a Mason who has not been a DeMolay, for unusual and meritorious service on behalf of DeMolay, or who has evidenced a spirit of cooperation and appreciation for the Order Of DeMolay. |
A Red Cordon Distinguishes an Active Legionnaire, and a White Cordon Distinguishes an Honorary Legionnaire. As the Greeks of old crowned the winner in the Olympics with a wreath of laurel as commendation for splendid development in every phase of life, so the Order of DeMolay, through the Legion of Honor, seeks to commend and encourage those, who not having completed the race, nonetheless have made an auspicious start, with the paramount thought of spurring them on to still greater achievement. |
