From the East:

My Brothers,

For those of you who missed our last meeting you truly missed a wonderful conferral of the first degree put on by our degree team for five new brothers. There is nothing like witnessing brothers being brought to true Masonic light for the very first time. My thanks go out to all the brothers who participated in the degree some for their first time and the brothers in attendance. I especially want to thank our Senior Warden Bro: Len Gottlieb for setting up the degree as well as the rehearsal, and the V.'.W.'.Frank Parker for a wonderful rendition of the historical lecture after the trying week he experienced.

Our next meeting will truly be a rare event. We will be honoring two of our very own. The R.'.W.'.Abe Fichtenbaum and the V.'.W.'.Frank Parker. These two brothers are being honored for all their hard work done in the past as well as their unique skills they bring to the craft. We are representing the R.'.W.'.Abe Fichtenbaum with his apron, jewel and proclamation for his selection to be the Grand Lodge representative to the Grand Lodge of Wisconsin, as well as the V.'.W.'.Frank Parker's for his selection as Assistant Grand Lecturer for the Eighth Manhattan Masonic District for his love and zeal for the ritual. We will be honoring them at a public meeting which we rarely do Harry S. Truman. This should truly be a spectacular event. I would like to remind you that if you plan on attending the dinner beforehand that it is imperative that you R.S.V.P with the Junior Warden the W.'.Jerome Hogan so we can have a proper head count. Please my brothers don't wait to last minute to do so.

Our following meeting on November 17, 2011 we will be hearing a lecture on Masonic Etiquette and protocol given by the V.'.W.'.Michael Siegel. A brush up on etiquette is always nice to insure that we are doing things properly and is also a good time to ask any questions you may have on the subject. We are very lucky in Harry S. Truman in having two AGL's who are members of our Lodge and it is up to us to take advantage of it.

Fraternally,
W.'.Steven Siegel
Master Harry S. Truman No. 1066
From the Secretary's Desk:

Brethren,

At the meeting on November 3 Harry S Truman Lodge will be honoring two of its newest members to serve Grand Lodge; R.'.W.'.Abraham Fichtenbaum who was awarded the Grand Representative of Wisconsin. and V.'.W.'.Frank L. Parker the new Assistant Grand Lecturer. This will be an open meeting.

Ladies, friends. and Guest, are invited to attend with a pre-meeting dinner in the ante-room of the American Room for members and guests. In order to insure that there "will be enough food, please, please. please, call me or the JW, Jerome Hogan at 347-465-2221 and let me know if you plan to attend dinner and how many. Don't embarrass the Lodge by not having enough food for all. If you do not call we may not have enough and you will be turned away from dinner. (this may sound harsh, but in order that things go smooth the caterer MUST know how many to prepare for). There is an old Irish saying "You can't plow field with your mind". Thinking about calling (toes not get it done. CALL TODAY

Enclosed with this notice you will find your new Dues hill which is payable by November I, 2011. This reflects the new Due structure that was just passed of $85.00 in Lodge Dues and $15.00 in Grand Lodge and District per capita dues. Please remember to include a donation to the Lodge, which helps offset some of the costs of events such as the picnic, the Festive Board, and evenings that we are having at this next meeting.

Remember any one who is "past due" two or more years is subject to un- affiliation, which also means you will be un-affiliated from all Masonic organizations. A payment plan is in effect. Contact the Secretary (for details. Please, send your dues and contributions in a timely manner and help keep the Lodge functioning and able to pay its expenses.

Fraternally.
R:.W.'. Martin Dashevsky. Secretary
