From the East:
My Brothers our last meeting was truly an honor and a privilege for me as I was installed as Master for the ensuing year. It will indeed be my pleasure to serve you to the best of my ability, and in looking out at our fine line of young and eager officers I know it will be an interesting year.
It was also with great pleasure that we were able to witness the presentation of a past masters apron to our immediate Past Master the V.'.W.'.Frank L. Parker by our secretary the R.'.W.'.Martin Dashevsky. The R.'.W.'."Marty" whom then in a wonderful act of brotherly love presented the V.'.W.'.Frank with his own AGL apron to wear in his new roll as AGL of the 8th. Manhattan until presented with his own .
Our next meeting will be on June 2, 2011 and the work of the evening will be a lecture on the Edinburgh Register House Manuscript of 1696 "the first Masonic ritual and how it compares with our modern one given by Bro: Ronen Berkovich as well as our budget for the ensuing year. This will also be our last meeting before the summer break. Remember my brothers just because the lodge has gone dark in this period it doesn't mean we have no contact. We are a family of brothers and a society of friends who should always be in contact with each other. Always feel free to contact me at any time for any reason.
I would also like to remind you that our 15th. Annual Picnic is on August 13 and is always a wonderful time. We need volunteers for the various tasks that result in the great picnic we have always had if you able to help please see our Senior Deacon Bro: Steve Lovasz who is the picnic chairman to offer help.
Fraternally, W.'.Steven Siegel Master Harry S. Truman No. 1066
| From the Secretary's Desk:
First I want to congratulate the newly elected and appointed Officers of the Lodge, and wish them luck in the ensuing year. I know the new Master, W.'.Stephen Siegel, has an ambitious program for the coming year, and I for one, look forward to watching him leading the Lodge. I also wish to thank V.'.W.'.Frank Parker for the leadership of the Lodge this past season. He had many new and innovative meetings. If you missed any of them then you lost out on what someone with new and "out of the box" ideas can bring to a Lodge. Though the meeting sometimes ran a little late, everyone was impressed with the programs that V.'.W.'.Frank presented to the Lodge.
As you can see from our Calendar of Events on the back page, the Lodge has a lot scheduled in the next few months, and most of them are family oriented. The only exception is when we will be granting Honorary Membership to R.'.W.'.James Sullivan, Deputy Grand Master, and R.'.W.'.Gilbert Savitzky, Grand Secretary. This is YOUR opportunity to show your friends and family what Masons are about and how they conduct themselves in a Lodge Room.
As stated this is our last meeting until September. However the Lodge will be in contact with you via e-mail to keep you updated on current events and happenings. If you are not receiving e-mails from me, now is the time to let me know. Just e-mail to carmar6123@verizon.net and subject "Harry S Truman Lodge" and I will see that you are added to the list. Please include you name as some e-mail addresses are not easily recognizable.
Wishing you and your families a Happy and Healthy summer, and looking forward to seeing everyone at the Annual Picnic on August 13, I remain,
Your Secretary, R.'.W.'.Martin Dashevsky |
