From the East:
Greetings Brothers,
I hope that you and your families are having a great summer! The Brotherhood and camaraderie of Harry S Truman Lodge continues to flourish, even when the Lodge is closed for the summer break.
In early July we held a Proficiency Education Night for our newly made Entered Apprentice's. The turnout of Brothers was amazing. There was pizza, a few laughs, and whole lot of education! Our new Brother’s came in with questions, and left with Masonic knowledge that will lead them well beyond "suitable" proficiency. We will be holding another Proficiency Education Night in August. The date is TBD, and all will be advised well in advance. My thanks to every the Brother who attended, and to the committee for setting it all up.
The Harry S Truman Picnic is fast approaching on Saturday August 14th. Come join your Brothers and their family & friends at scenic Kolping-on-the-Hudson. There will be fun games for the kids, fun games for the adults, swimming, all you can eat barbeque, all you can drink, and let’s not forget "Joe’s Cajun Kitchen." |
That alone is worth the $40 per family. Rain or Shine (and it will probably be shine!) It’s a great time for all every year, and this year our committee chairman Steve Lovasz promises some additional surprises, including Harry S Truman beer steins! Don’t miss it. My wife Mary and I are looking forward to seeing you all.
We have a very full calendar of events in the coming Masonic year. The DDGM Visit, Eastern Star Night, Degrees, and of course Honor’s Night. This year our honorees will be: W.'.Michael Iannone, R.'.W.'.Bruce Testut, R.'.W.'.Steward C. McCloud, and R.'.W.'.Edward W. Callaghan, Jr. There is a lot of planning and hard work going on behind the scenes! And, I encourage all Brothers to participate and join their Masonic family at the Lodge and at special events.
In the meantime, have a safe, happy and healthy summer! May the Great Architect of the Universe protect you and your families, and may Masonic light shine upon you each and every day. See you at the picnic, and at the Lodge
Fraternally, W:. Frank L. Parker Master
