From the East:
Having imparted the message of our M.'.W.'.Grand Master Vincent Labone to a full Lodge room of Brothers, a most welcome delegation from Humanatis Lodge, our Fellowcraft and a visiting Entered Apprentice; the Official Visit or our District Deputy Grand Master, the R.'.W.'.John Walker Robinson was a wonderful evening for all. My thanks to all in attendance, the distinguished East, and of course to R.'.W.'.John Walker Robinson for his usual decorum.
We have only 2 meetings remaining in 2010. Our next meeting on November 18th will be the Degree of Entered Apprentice. The proficient ritual work that Harry S Truman Lodge is known for will be in full force! Our JW Len Gottlieb will be doing the Master's work, and one of our new Fellowcraft has joined the ritual team. All Brothers are strongly urged to attend.
On December 2nd we will have the annual Harry S Truman Festive Board. Food, drink, camaraderie, and let's face it, a great time! I have 2 words: Be There! Need I say more? Probably not, but I will in the next communication!
We have Brothers who for various reasons have left New York City and moved to various states around the country. These Brothers still make an effort to attend meetings from as far away as Virginia and Florida, and continue to pay their annual dues even though they can't make many (or any) meetings. I want to say THANK YOU to these Brothers. You are an important part of the family, and you are always in our thoughts, prayers, and hearts.
Freemasonry doesn't end because a Brother has moved outside the jurisdiction of his Lodge. The Brotherhood, respect, fellowship, and love, live on forever.
See you all at the 1st Degree on 11/18.
Fraternally, W:. Frank L. Parker Master, Harry S Truman Lodge #1066
| From The Secretary's Desk:
At this meeting we will be conferring the Degree of Entered Apprentice on those candidates that are qualified to receive the same. Wouldn't it be nice if when they are brought to "light" for the first time to see a room full of brothers? Please make every effort to be in attendance on one of the most important night of these new brothers life.
December 2, 2010 will be the last meeting of this season until January 20, 2011.
The Lodge will be holding its annual Festive Board when brothers and their invited guest will break bread in what has become one of the highlights of our Lodge. Make your plans to attend and bring perspective brothers with you. RESERVATIONS ARE A MUST. If there is to be enough food and wine to go around we must have a count of how many will be in attendance. Let our Jr. Warden know as soon as you can so that we all could share in this event.
Attached to this notice is the flier for the District Children's Holiday Party on Dec. 18. As you see Steve Lovasz needs to know how many are coming. Please be sure to let him know.
