From the East:

Brethren, at our last meeting we passed seven Brothers to the Degree of Fellowcraft. These Brothers have been hardworking, eager to study, attend meetings, and are more than suitably proficient. Congratulations to our seven new Fellowcrafts, and my personal thank you to all the Brothers who participated in and attended the Degree. It was a truly Masonic evening, and one I will not forget.

Our next meeting on Thursday 10/21 we will be conducting a brief education aimed at our new Fellowcrafts, and immediately following that we will be sending a delegation in support of R.'.W.'.Michael Willner's re-presentation.

R.'.W.'.Michael Willner is a rwmwGrand Steward of the Grand Lodge of the State of New York. He is a Brother you might recognize from his participation as an educator with the MDC and Road to the East courses. R.'.W.'.Willner is a Past Master of Humanitas Lodge, and has been a good friend and Brother to Harry S Truman Lodge.

Since his re-presentation is open to Brothers of all Masonic degrees, I would ask that all our Brothers attend this special event, to congratulate R.'.W.'.Willner, and to let Harry S Truman Lodge exhibit its unfailing dedication to our District, and its leaders.

There will be a pre-meeting dinner on the 19th floor from 6 to 7, and the Lodge will open promptly at 7pm! See you all on Thursday Brothers.

Fraternally,
W.'.Frank L. Parker
Master, Harry S Truman Lodge #1066
From The Secretary's Desk:

As Chairman of the Harry S Truman Foundation it has come to my attention that donations are not coming in.

My Brothers, Charity is an important part of your Masonic Life, and we only have one “drive” a year to support our Foundation. The monies that we give to the various charities, which you approve of, come from this drive, which, by law, ends December 31.

Please send in your contributions to:

Joseph Ruiz, Treasurer,
22 Pawnee Dr.,
Commack, NY 11725,

TODAY !

As the Master states in his message, at this meeting we will be meeting with Humanitas Lodge and help them honor R.'.W.'.Michael Willner, who has been appointed Grand Steward of the Grand Lodge of Masons in the State of New York. They are holding an OPEN MEETING, which means that you can invite your non-Masonic friends, and your wives to attend. They can meet up with us and join in extending our best wishes to Michael as he begins his journey through Grand Lodge.

District Education

Brothers of the Loyal 8th:

The Masonic educational year is kicking off this Thursday ( Sept. 23, 2010 ) with the Entered Apprentice section of the Masonic Development Course (MDC).

You will enjoy the expert and encyclopedic knowledge of our DD, the R.'.W.'.John Walker Robinson as your guide, with my humble self supporting.

No matter how experienced or knowledgeable, you will learn something new, have stimulating Masonic discussions and come away energized and Masonally refreshed ... we've seen it every time from the newest MM to the most venerable R.'.W.'.. 24inchNote: EAs and FCs are welcome.

We will meet this Thursday, September 23rd at Masonic Hall (room 931) @ 7:00 PM, and expect to spend 3 - 3.5 hours (details on the DD/SO calendar)

Please confirm to me your plans to attend, there is a $10 fee for the MDC booklet (well worth it), I'll procure it and have it there for you.

Thank you, and I look forward to enjoying our educational journey with you.

Sincerely and fraternally,
R.'.W.'.Michael B. Willner
Grand Steward, Grand Lodge of the State of New York 8th Manhattan.
