From the East:

Brothers, our last meeting was a very special night. Our Honor's Night was a wonderful evening for all and the four Brothers we honored were gracious, appreciative and will always have our thanks. We also had a quiz for our Entered Apprentices and they each did a great job and will surely be suitably proficient.

This brings me to our upcoming meeting on Thursday October 7th, the Degree of Fellowcraft. We expect to have 8 Brothers passed to the Degree of Fellowcraft, and since this is such a large group, I would like to ask all Brothers to attend this meeting. We will need conductors, and what better way to pass our new Fellowcraft than to have a full Lodge.

There will be a Dutch-treat dinner at Outback at 6pm, and the Lodge will open promptly at 7:30. A lot of work and practice will go into this Degree, and your support by attendance is earnestly solicited.

See you all on October 7th.

Fraternally,
W.'.Frank L. Parker
Master, Harry S Truman Lodge #1066
From The Secretary's Desk:

I cannot stress enough the importance of paying your dues. We still have over $6,000.00 in unpaid dues (both current and arrears). In order for the Lodge to meet its obligation, it is important that every one pay their dues in a timely manner. CHECK YOU WALLETS! IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A CURRENT DUE CARD YOU DID NOT PAY YOUR DUES. In three months we will be unaffiliating those who are 2 or more years in arrears. As of now there are about 20 brothers who will be unaffiliated. THAT IS ALMOST 10% OF THE LODGE.

If you feel you paid your dues and did not receive a card contact me and I will verify whether or not you did.

If you have a canceled check that would help.

The "arrears" that are included in some notices are for that Dues that is at least one year behind.

It does not include what is due for this year.

District Education

Brothers of the Loyal 8th:

The Masonic educational year is kicking off this Thursday ( Sept. 23, 2010 ) with the Entered Apprentice section of the Masonic Development Course (MDC).

You will enjoy the expert and encyclopedic knowledge of our DD, the R.'.W.'.John Walker Robinson as your guide, with my humble self supporting.

No matter how experienced or knowledgeable, you will learn something new, have stimulating Masonic discussions and come away energized and Masonally refreshed ... we've seen it every time from the newest MM to the most venerable R.'.W.'.. 24inchNote: EAs and FCs are welcome.

We will meet this Thursday, September 23rd at Masonic Hall (room 931) @ 7:00 PM, and expect to spend 3 - 3.5 hours (details on the DD/SO calendar)

Please confirm to me your plans to attend, there is a $10 fee for the MDC booklet (well worth it), I'll procure it and have it there for you.

Thank you, and I look forward to enjoying our educational journey with you.

Sincerely and fraternally,
R.'.W.'.Michael B. Willner
Grand Steward, Grand Lodge of the State of New York 8th Manhattan.
