From the West:

Dear Brothers:

Harry S Truman lodge is coming up on its 200th Communication, and W.'.M.'.Matty Donovan is planning a special evening to celebrate that milestone.

As Senior Warden of the lodge I would like to say thank you to the Worshipful Master, and to remind all the brothers of our lodge to participate on this special night.

None will go away dissatisfied!

Fraternally,
Brother Frank L. Parker
Senior Warden

From the Secretary:

Please inform our forgetful Brothers, whom you might know, that those in arrears 2 or more years will be dropped (NPD) at the end of December. AND,

PLEASE HELP BRO. STEVE LOVASZ BY LETTING HIM KNOW HOW MANY KIDS YOU ARE BRINGING TO THE DISTRICT 8 CHILDREN'S HOLIDAY PARTY ON DECEMBER 5. HE WANTS TO MAKE IT FUN FOR EVERYONE.
From the East:

Dear Brethren:
Please join me in the celebration of the 200th Communication of our Lodge. I have something planned to commemorate this milestone in our history that I believe you will find interesting, especially those of you who may not be familiar with how we got here, today.

I would like to encourage all the Fellowcraft to attend not only this meeting, but all our meetings. I am always glad to see you and I hope you will join us as much as you can to get as much light as you can. There are brothers willing to help. So, please come down and pick our brains.

I would like to remind you that the Festive Board will be held on December 3rd. It is an open meeting and a good time to bring a friend who is interested in joining our Fraternity. Please inform us if you are attending and give us the names of those you would like to bring with you.

One final note: Our Foundation is in the middle of its annual fund drive. Monies collected go to worthwhile charities. Any support you can give will be greatly appreciated. We ask that you submit your donation by the end of December.

Again, thank you for your continued contributions to our Lodge and Foundation. I look forward to seeing you at the next meeting, and may the GAOTU safeguard our valiant Troops, wherever they may be.

Fraternally yours,
Matty
W.'.M.'.Mathew Donovan
Worshipful Master of the Lodge.

mdc

Brethren,

I had a truly special Masonic experience last night when I attended the Masonic Development Course (MDC) training, and I wanted to share it with you.

The MDC is a three part course, presented under the direction of R.'.W.'.Joseph Ruiz, Grand Director of Ceremonies, and expertly facilitated by W.'.John Walker Robinson, President of the 8th Manhattan District.

More then a dozen Brothers convened to for this session, the first of three classes, and what followed was wonderful; as we worked our way through the training materials (the topics for this session was overview and the Degree of Entered Apprentice), we found ourselves engaged in lively discussion, debate, and sharing of ideas. Several Lodges were represented, and the contributions were enlightening and more importantly EVERYONE was engaged, attentive, serious, and involved. Br. John was masterful (no pun intended) as he moved the class along, asked open-ended questions, and displayed encyclopedic knowledge of Masonry.

I encourage every Brother to get involved in the Masonic education offered by the District and Grand Lodge. The schedule of classes is in the 8th District roster, and R:. W:. Ruiz was very helpful to me when I needed assistance lining up my schedule to attend the classes. This is a precious jewel we all have access to.

Thank you,
W.'.Michael B. Willner
