FROM THE EAST:
Dear Brethren:

Dear Brethren:

I would personally like to thank all the brothers and visiting dignitaries who attended our September 18th Lodge meeting at which time we celebrated two of our most distinguished members with the presentation of their Aprons and Jewels: R∴W∴Larry Barnard, District Deputy Grand Master of the Eighth Masonic District; and R∴W∴Joseph Ruiz, Grand Director of Ceremonies of the Grand Lodge of New York. Some of the many dignitaries who attended the meeting are as follows: Past Grand Masters M∴W∴Gary A. Henningsen; and M∴W∴Neal Bidnick; current elected and appointed Grand Line officers: Deputy Grand Master R∴W∴Vincent Libone; Grand Treasurer R∴W∴Marino Cesarini (we all pray his wife is recuperating well); Grand Secretary R∴W∴Gilbert Savitzky; Deputy Grand Marshal R∴W∴Robert J. Servidio; and, Junior Grand Deacon R∴W∴Dennis G. Feldman. It would be impossible to list all the other visiting dignitaries by full name and title. Suffice it to say that the group was impressive, by itself, a great tribute to our two deserving brothers. Many current and past DDGM's, AGL's, sitting Masters, RW's, VW's and W's were there for this happy occasion. I also appreciate all the kind things so many had to say about our honorees.

Being a true friend is what Freemasonry is all about. To my knowledge, there is no magical formula or incantation that will allow others to honor and respect you as an individual. Friendship and respect are not commodities that one can easily purchase at an outlet store or by email. Friendship, honor and respect cannot be taken from one who is deemed worthy of them.

Friendship is like a fine wine that mellows and improves with age. It is the one thing that each of us can posses in quantity, whether you are rich or poor. It is the one thing that we can bestow in generous quantities to whomever we wish. It is that quality that can be given and leaves us all the richer for having given it.

I would not even be surprised if it were to follow us beyond the veil.

Please remember that I will be closing the Lodge after the election and installation of our new treasurer in order to enable all of us to exhibit our support and respect for our friend and brother, the R∴W∴Larry Barnard, by accompanying him on his DDGM visit to Humanitas Lodge.

Any brother or brothers wishing to participate in the MAGLA 2009 Ritual Competition must submit his name to me, soon. Since our Lodge may enter ONLY ONE candidate, an elimination competition must be completed before April15.

You will soon receive a letter from me regarding our Foundation's Annual Charity Drive. Please respond generously with your tax deductible contribution.

Wishing you and yours all the best that can be bestowed upon you, I remain.,
W∴Jonathan Patrick

FROM THE SECRETARY'S DESK:

Beginning with this Communication, we will attempt to save postage costs for the Lodge by emailing to those Brothers whose emails we have. If you receive this Communication by regular mail, obviously we do not have your email address on record. Send me your email address, please. Help our Lodge save costs., please email me YOUR email address and any changes in your contact information--address, phone / cell number/s.

With fraternal affection,
Bro. Ted H. Jacobsen
