From the East:Wow, a year has passed, and it is now my time to pass the East off to a new Masters fraternal care. Care it will be as all the officers in the line are more than capable of moving to the East. We have been extremely fortunate to have had such talented brothers occupying the chairs in our Lodge. It seems that it will continue for years to come! No well regulated Lodge, can function without the support of its officers. To this end, many thanks are needed. Until one sits in the East, the function of the Chaplin seems to be a prayer or two during meetings and degree work. The Chaplin is the number two officer when opening and closing the Lodge. He is a second pair of eyes, a protocol officer and in the case of R.'.W.'.Joe Mandel, a master of Ventriloquism. Let us not forget, or minimize the role of the Secretary and Treasurer, without these two Brothers providing the continuity and Masonic expertise they posses from year to year, Harry S Truman would not be the Lodge it is today. Special thanks to the Past Masters of HST that took the time to straighten crooked things, that gentle whisper in the ear and the all to familiar PERHAPS you should________.
As to the officers, I cannot say enough for the many phone calls, and willingness to learn the work, provide constructive comments and watch my back! Thank you all, and from the East CCC ccc CCC. I also challenge the many brothers and Past Masters of Harry S Truman that I have not met, or due to business and family found your cable tow short. Why not make an effort to visit YOUR Lodge at least twice this year. Pick an event and plan to attend, your presence will be greatly appreciated, especially for degree work. We raised three Brothers last meeting, who will prove to be the building blocks of Truman's future. A special thanks to Bro. Sanford Gottesman who assumed the role of Degree Master. In attendance for the degree was a W Dana Wildes, District Awareness Officer of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, Bro. Johannas Gerardas Govers, La Perseverance Lodge No. 11, Maastricht, Netherlands, W David Senft, Spartan 956, (who assisted us with the Drama). It was interesting to discuss the differences our traveling Brothers found not only in the Degree work, but also the open and closing.
Fraternally, W Tony Pecorella
