From the East
Our last meeting was MOVE UP NIGHT, and what a night. I believe, no I KNOW that Harry S Truman No.1066 is in good hands. We have many young, talented and ambitious Brothers in the line treading that ladder that will lead to fame in our Mystic circle. As always it is YOUR support for the Lodge and Craft that will keep us healthy.
Friday evening we traveled to the Grand Lodge Room to attend a first degree at Garibaldi Lodge. If you have never attended this Lodge to enjoy this very different degree, make every effort in the future to do so, well worth the effort. M.·.W.·. Neal I. Bidnick was in attendance along with 700 Brothers from Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Germany, Japan and New York. The Grand Master spoke on the resurgence of Masonry in the country, and the a bright future that is on the horizon.
Our next meeting will once again have a pre-meeting dinner and coalition, with a visitation to Humanitas Lodge for the homecoming of the District Deputy and the Grand Director of Ceremony and GDC R.'.W.'. Larry Barnard. Knowing these two men, and all the hard work and enthusiasm they bring to the craft, I can say they deserve your attendance. Make an effort to be part of this evening.
W.'.Ted Padawer DSA our organist and soon to be R.'.W.'. Ted Padawer Grand Representative of the Grand Lodge Occidental de Columbia near the Grand Lodge of the State of New York will receive his certificate on April 16. A pre-meeting dinner is planned at 5:30. Since this commission is through his mother Lodge, Spartan 956 1st Nassau, some travel will be required for both events. A second event is planned for Sunday May 18 at 3:00. This will be a public event, your Ladies and families are requested. Attendance will require a reservation, if you are interested please contact me at Masterhst1066@aol.com or my home number, or click the link above.
There has been some discussion in the Lodge about making every meeting a pre-meeting dinner. It would seem that the cost of eating at the local establishments can be greatly reduced by the pre-meeting dinner. Most of all it will contribute to our Masonic interaction. Your opinion counts! The success of this program or any other program will be in your hands!
