From The Secretary's Desk:
Due to the proposed increase in Grand Lodge per-capita tax of $9.50 that was passed at the last Grand Lodge Convention, the Lodge is again forced to increase the dues structure. This is the first of two increases that was passed by Grand Lodge, so instead of raising the dues every year, I am proposing an base dues structure plus the per-capita tax that Grand Lodge charges. This will be different from what we are now paying as the dues now collected includes the per capita. I am aware that the increase may be a burden on some brothers, so I am requesting at this time that if you feel you cannot afford the increase, don't lose your status as a Mason in Good Standing, instead bring your dues up to date and request a demit. This will enable you to keep your good name, though you will not be able to attend meetings. If you ever decide to return to Lodge after five years you may do so without having to pay your back dues. I also request this be done so that the Lodge will not have to pay your per-capita for the three years it will take to declare you un-affiliated. From the East:My brothers, it's with great pride that I report to you from the east the flawless third Degree your brothers performed at our last Communication. I wish to thank those brothers for being prepared and achieving a high goal of proficiency. I will like to also thank all the brothers from other lodges who assisted us in forming the walls. Special thanks to R.'.W.'.Ed Callahan, R.'.W.'.Michael Hyman and R.'.W.'.Joseph N. Mandel for a job well done. To our newly raised brothers I stretch out my hand, and embrace you with "brotherly love" that which cements us all. Remember wisdom isn't a product of peace, but of struggle. Learn the work of a mason, and earn the rewards, which will make you whole. Your membership makes you a Freemason, what you derive and instill in your common practice thru life in masonry is what completes your purpose. Learn, study and commit to mind the work, and thus enjoy the self-gratitude of being a humanitarian and an ambassador of fellowman. Congratulations one, and all. My brothers, I thank you for walking with me, and for supporting our lodge .I thank all my brothers who have offered their support in making us whole. My brothers at our next communication we will discuss our Budget please join us. On June 25th. We look forward to the Pilgrimage to Utica in support of our own R.'.W.'.Joseph N. Mandel. Who will be appointed District Deputy Grand Master, of the Loyal Eight Manhattan District. We look forward to attending and celebrating this joyous occasion. The weekend is for all to enjoy which to name a few things, a parade, Dinner, and BBQ's. Brothers who need tickets to this event should contact V.'.W.'.Larry Barnard. Please keep in mind that our foundation, is once again seeking your financial support. Our fundraiser will be in honor of our past Worshipfuls. Please see R.'.W.'.Michael Hyman, Michael claims he never refuses money. As for our Website. We have made some changes, which will introduce some interesting new images and including the Masters Message. I would also like to send a warm hello to all my retired brothers. I thank you for the stones you have set in order for us to walk on. Brethren let us not forget those man and women in our armed forces; please keep them in your prayers. May they return home safe to their loved ones. Fraternally, W.'.Kenneth Arango |
