From the East,
Once again we embark on a process of converting men of integrity and honor into brothers of our fraternity. Our next meeting will be that of an Entered Apprentice degree. Your presence is required, for it is the work of the lodge, and your labor to be at these degrees to welcome new members, and relive your oaths, and support the fraternity.
Our last Communication was that of the official DD Visit to our Lodge. The message that the DD provided was simple, and almost seemed like the theme for our upcoming Festive Board. When choosing someone to attend, if they pass the following test, they are the proper candidate for the fraternity. Would I bring them home to meet the wife and family! If so, please bring them to meet your extended family.
As I have mentioned more than once in my messages, Masonry exist before and after Lodge meetings, not a revelation to most, although I thought it should be mentioned. Has anyone fell victim to the premise that Masonry was some sort of spectator sport, a bi-monthly Lodge room system of entertainment? Is it the role of the Master to entertain, or is it the role of the entertainment committee to do so? If you chose the later, you would be right, congratulations, thanks for taking the position! Please contact me with your programs! Oh, not me, I can't to busy with the family, work and life. There would be no support by the other members, I did that years ago and burned myself out. Nobody ever asked for my help, be careful with that response (re-read this paragraph).
There will be an Event at Ronald McDonald House in Queens on Dec. 1. This program which is hosted by The Electrical Square Club is for the placement of lights and seasonal emblems for the benefit of sick children and their parents. How can you help, simple be there with your wife, daughters, sons and friends, as there is much work to do, and something for all skill levels. Want to make a donation to this charity, we are always looking for special lights, animated emblems and the other products that will give them something to smile about. Remember, IT IS ALL ABOUT THE KIDS!
I had the fortune to be embarrassed recently by a group of young ladies, ranging in age from 10 to 21 years. To add insult to injury, it was in a place that I find very familiar. I watched as their perambulations covered familiar ground, they spoke words that are similar to ours, all without hesitation, without prompting, and it was flawless.
The Organization of Triangles, Inc. is a youth sorority located in the State of New York, for girls aged 10 through 21 years. For seventy-nine years, the Organization of Triangles, Inc. has been helping to prepare girls to build "A Finer American Womanhood". Triangle provides a growth environment with adult guidance. Triangle tries to develop in each of its members a devotion to high ideals, a better understanding of duty to Home, God, and Country, and stresses the importance of education in the development of intellect and character. They also make life-long friends, and have fun! http://www.nytriangle.org/
In keeping with our times, the adult guidance of the Triangles, have developed an oath that parents whom are non-Masons can attend their daughters meetings. If you are interested I will be attending a meeting on the third Friday of November (16), at the Baldwin Temple.
You will also find an e-mail that I recently received , called holiday function. I do believe it is self explanatory!
