           Our picnic was fantastic. The weather was the best I can remember. I'd like to thank our picnic committee for the great job they did. Our picnic chairman, Brother Frank Melita did an outstanding job again. The picnic committee executed a flawless program, special thanks to Brother Stephen Siegel at horseshoes, Brother Robert Callahan Jr. for the children's games, Brother Tony Pecorella for the Ladies Bingo and Brothers Matt Donovan and Stephen Petrillo for filling in everywhere. Even our Past Master Michael Siegel pitched in at the Italian Ices. Our secret weapon, Joes' Cajun Kitchen, is to be thanked for some wonderful food. Thank you, R.'.W.'.Joseph N. Mandel, Brothers William Gambrell and Joe Solano for the gastric delights. A special thanks to R.'.W.'.George Dondero and W.'.Artie Kessler for their advice and support to keep this a top-notch event.

            Charity: I have recently mailed out letters for the Harry S Truman Foundation. Please take the time to donate to your Lodges' only

charity event of the year. Charity begins at home and your home is Harry S Truman Lodge.

Everyone should visit this site. It really has a lot to look at including a history and memorabilia page and links to Grand Lodge and other lodges as well as current notices and events of our Lodge.             Business: This meeting will have a short business session followed by a Representation of the District Deputy and Staff Officer. We will be joined by our Brothers in Humanitas Lodge #1123. Please come out to support R.'.W.'.H. Stephen Lieb and our own R.'.W.'.Larry N. Barnard while we break bread with our Brothers from Humanitas.

           Special note: There will be dinner before the Representation; all Brothers planning to attend the dinner should contact me or the Secretary. Seating is limited. Cocktails start @ 5:30pm, dinner is @ 6:15pm.

May God continue to protect you and your families and grant you his countenance and blessings. May He also protect the men and women of our armed services and return them home soon.

FROM THE SECRETARY�S DESK:     As you see, the Lodge lost a number of brothers and relatives of members over the summer months. We have all received letters from our Master, W\Michael F. Estrada, about our Foundation. One way to remember our deceased brothers and family members is by making a donation to the Foundation in their name, or through the Foundation, to a Charity of your choosing. If this is done, letters will be sent to the families informing them that a donation was made in their loved ones name. Not only will you be helping the Lodge, but it is a more personal way of remembering the departed.

 

            On a happier note, anyone who missed our annual picnic missed out on another fabulous time spent with family and brothers on a spectacular summer day. This is one event that everyone has a grand time. The food is good, the camaraderie is great and the fun is non-stop.    

 

            All who participated in the District's annual Fishing Trip had another great time. Even though it rained all day, everyone caught fish and enjoyed each other's company. Make sure that these events are part of next year's summer plans. Don't miss out on the fun.
